I cannot take credit for these GIS generated maps, but the animated transitions are mine. Much map work for the web requires adaptation of credible sources, creating added value with the presentation style. The surprise here is how small the file sizes are when cleaned up and optimized with ULEAD Gif Animator.

This map animation and the next reward the persistent viewer who follows the transition effect through several cycles to make mental comparisons of the data. That's the intent of the animation design.
